General Condition of Flood Documentation
What helps verify that flooding affected two or more properties or two or more acres, one of which is yours.
What GCF Means
- A general condition of flood generally requires flooding over two or more acres of normally dry land or two or more properties, one of which is the insured property.
- The field adjuster must document evidence supporting the flood condition when possible.
Helpful Evidence
- Photos of floodwater affecting the insured property and nearby properties or acreage.
- Photos of flooded streets, yards, adjoining lots, waterways, or drainage areas.
- Visible debris lines, mud lines, water lines, silt, and flood remnants.
- Public weather, river gauge, local emergency, or news documentation when available.
Why It Matters
- If a general condition of flood cannot be verified, coverage may be impacted or unavailable.
